Berto and I first met at a flamenco dance performance in Brazil. At the time, I thought the electricity I felt radiating from him was the energy of attraction to me :) I didn’t know that he was passionate about all things flamenco.

Well - fast forward. The spark of the relationship did ignite into a sustainable flame. But his passion for flamenco has also maintained a steady flame and he has found ways to weave it into his musical life.

While still living in Brazil we collaborated with dancer Irene Madureira and after moving to the US with dancers Solange Gomes, Kristi O’Brien, Tracy Verkerke, and Kristen Eberly. Tracy Verkerke is also the artist who drew the dancer on our cover art. It was originally a part of the design for Toma Que Toma’s t-shirts.

The Muse Awakens begins with a gorgeous guitar intro and transforms into a Spanish flamenco tangos. May it transport you to a world of mystery and wonder.
